I have done some crazy shit in my life.

I had a romantic e-relationship with a Twitter-famous person that I met on the Twitter like two or thee years ago. After months of speaking to this person, he asked me one morning to get on a plane that afternoon and visit him for the weekend… he was still drunk from the day/night before. I had never physically met him, and I didn’t know another soul in that state. I called my mom to see if she would talk me out of it, but she didn’t. She just said “Go for it! You’re just sitting in your apartment this weekend anyway, so why not let someone buy you a plane ticket and go have fun? I’ll stay with Aidan, don’t worry!” AND I SAID YOU’RE RIGHT. OK, I WILL GO! 

And I went. With like only half an hour left of cellphone charge, to boot. 

Thankfully, I did not die, but I was pretty terrified when I had to wait at a very small and empty airport in Southbend, Indiana and I had no way of getting in contact with said man that was to pick me up because his cellphone was absolutely dead and he was staying at a hotel room with none of his belongings except what was on his back that weekend. He ended up picking me up, but it wasn’t after about two hours. Apparently, he had gotten lost trying to get to the airport. The only scarier thing to happen after that was when we had to stay in a serial killer worthy motel with bullet holes in the windows, a bright red light that heated the bathroom, and creepy ass ghost sounds coming from the laundry room that was connected to the back wall of our room. 

Nevertheless, I must admit that I had fun that weekend. There are plenty of reasons why I’m glad it happened and why I’m not so glad that it happened, but hey, at least I can say that I got on a plane one day to meet a (physical) stranger for an absolutely unplanned trip and lived through it to be able to still, over two years later analyze and internally say to myself “What the FUCK were you thinking?!”
