What the FUCK is wrong with parents?!

This little girl who is in second grade is constantly at my house. She’s pretty much the only one I allow in the house because she’s well mannered and sweet, but Lee and I are always perplexed at the fact that her parents have no idea who the hell we are and yet don’t care enough to even look to see where her daugher is or with who.

Aidan asked me today if I would let his friend come in, and I said yes. After an entire afternoon and me having to feed both of them, this guy who could either be her brother or father came to the door looking for her. It appeared like he had been knocking on all the doors, as he had absolutely no sure way of knowing where the fuck she has been all day. When I went to the door, he didn’t even have the common desency to introduce himself. The lady who was with him, and who I assume is her mother, didn’t even come up to the door to say hello. Considering we’ve been babysitting her daughter for free for the last two months, there could’ve been at least a smile or something! 

Anyway, she left and after a while came back to ask Aidan to play. They were outside for a few minutes when the ice cream truck came by. It comes daily, and being the sucker that I am, I usually have cash on me so my boys can get some. Also being the sucker that I am, I give them enough to make sure that whatever kid they might be with also gets some. So naturally, Aidan came in begging for money for him and the little girl. Of course, I gave them my last $5.

They went to get the ice cream and about 10 minutes later, Aidan comes in with the little girl, both having ice cream in hand, and says “Mom, we have to come inside because Jay’s mom had to go somewhere with the rest of their family, and she told Jay she had to come inside of our house until she came back!” 

After opening my eyes as big as the sun, I thought in my head “That can’t be possible. Aidan is probably just exaggerating or trying to trick me into letting them play inside again”, and asked Jay what was going on. She says “Yeah, my mom had to leave for a while. I don’t know to where, but she told me to come inside of your house until later when she comes back. I don’t know when she’s coming back, but she said to just come over and stay here for a while, anyway.” 

What in the fuck?!  Who the hell does something like this?! Who not only doesn’t give a shit what house their little girl is in, but then -tells- them to go there while they leave their house without even consulting with the adult in said home to see if it’s OK? They don’t even know my fucking name. I had to hold back from telling Jay exactly what I thought about her parents and how not ok this was, but she’s only in 2nd grade and it’s not her fault her family is fucking psychotic. 

Just a word to those of you who care for children and may possibly allow their kids out the door without knowing where the fuck they go all day or with who: I always knew better than to go into a strangers house when I was little, yet when I was about 7 or 8, an older man and neighbor led me into his house one day when his family wasn’t at home and although I knew better, I decided not only to respect my elders but also to let my curiosity get in the way, and went inside to tour his home. There, he molested me, and the only reason it didn’t turn into a full-blown rape was because of the fear that came into me for my baby sister who had asked to use his bathroom during that time. I was lucky enough, that he believed me when my sister came out of the bathroom and I said that I had heard my mom calling us inside, as I was literally two houses down when this happened. 

DON’T TRUST ANYONE WITH YOUR KIDS, AND DON’T LET YOUR BELIEF IN WHAT YOU THINK THEY KNOW OR HOW “MATURE” YOU THINK THEY ARE FOR THEIR AGE TO CLOUD YOUR JUDGEMENT AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE FACT THAT THE WORLD OUTSIDE OF YOUR FRONT DOOR IS A TRULY FUCKED UP, AND DARK ONE. 

There are sick people in the world, and whether or not I’m right in looking at everyone who comes near my kids firstly with malice, I sleep a lot better at night that way. Children need the adults around them to protect them because they don’t have the capacity to do it themselves. Always remember that. 

Now, I need to calm myself down before I go punch that idiot fucking mother in the god damned mouth with my car.
