To add to the Fuck 2012 pile of shit, I cannot go to school this semester.
I had to withdraw from two out of four classes last semester because of personal shit and because the new system the school was using for online classes was not working for me in those classes and my professors wouldn’t help me with it.
Because of this, my GPA for that semester went into a 1.75, which suspended my financial aid. Thing is that one of my teachers gavel a B instead of an A, which was what I should’ve gotten, and once he fixed it, bumped everything up to a 2.0. It should’ve been enough to get everything on track but I apparently have a 66.67% completion rate, which is supposed to be a 67% in order to get financial aid. “And we don’t round up.”
So after speaking to 3 trillion people about the reasons why I had to withdraw, such as: being evicted From my apartment, my mom’s health, lay offs, and teachers not willing to help me throughout the semester to name a few, I was told the only option I have in order to go to school this Spring, is to pay for my classes and get reimbursed while the appeal forms are approved.
I cried, begged, pleaded, and informed them that I didn’t have $1,200 for tuition and then for books to wait for them to reimburse me and she said “well, all you have to do is pay $478 and hope that your appeal goes through by the next pay period. That’s what everyone else is doing.” …I bet.
I tried to remind her that if I had that sort of money, I wouldn’t be getting my entire tuition paid for by the government or be in need of any financial aid. She just shrugged and told me to go stand in line with the other five thousand people.
Fuck everything.
